Management Accountant

Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Management Accountant to join our team. This role is crucial for driving the financial health and strategic growth of our organization. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with senior management and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Wertec.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, management reports, and budgets.
    • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
    • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Develop, implement, and manage the annual budgeting process.
    • Prepare rolling forecasts and long-term financial projections.
    • Provide financial modeling to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Cost Management:
    • Monitor and control company expenses, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
    • Conduct regular variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Strategic Planning and Growth:
    • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s long-term objectives.
    • Provide financial insights to support business growth initiatives, including new product launches, market expansion, and M&A activities.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax requirements.
    • Manage internal controls, risk assessments, and audit processes.
    • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and advise on necessary adjustments.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Mentor and develop junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial literacy across the organization.
    • Play a key role in succession planning, with a pathway to becoming Wertec’s CFO.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualification preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant, Financial Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial and management accounting principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Ambition to grow into a CFO role, with a strategic mindset and leadership potential.
